“I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.”  – Psalm 118:17

Dear friends,

It’s hard to imagine the goodness of God in the midst of a diagnosis like cancer; and 7 years ago, I never would have imagined that God was going to take me thru the valley of disease to such a place where I GET TO know and serve alongside beautiful people, like Norma.  Her story of prayer, faith and healing has encouraged me. I love how God knit our lives together in such a special way, and I am so thrilled to share this story of a most inspiring woman who has touched my life and countless others.

HealingStrong™ is growing into a world-wide platform where people come together in their own communities to connect, educate, encourage and equip others who want to learn more about natural, God-given strategies to heal strong and stay strong.  Sharing our testimonies of healing is important.  It gives us all hope!  It strengthens our faith and encourages us along our own paths.

Meet Norma Osborne, our HealingStrong™  Group Leader in Nairne, South Australia.

Here’s her story in her own words:

My name is Norma Osborne.  I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and a treasure to me for the last 43 years, Bill, and  three amazing children, Rebekah, Sam and Jono, plus 8 grandchildren and 2 foster grandchildren. I live in a place called Hartley in rural South Australia, on 150 acres of a little bit of heaven on earth. We run our own Bed and Breakfast called: Broken Gum Country Retreat,  where kangaroo families and birdlife are prolific.   We also have sheep, peacocks and a beloved dog Gemma who delights in rounding up our sheep and peacocks to show off to our guests. Several days of my week are spent at Jambo Sana,  our shop in Nairne, which houses a Cafe, African Crafts and our office for Australia HOPE International, an aid organization which my husband and I started in 2000 after an exploratory trip to Africa with our daughter Rebekah.

Here’s a picture of the children from Kibogo, a remote African village, praying for me on my healing journey:

Two years ago, in August 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I was immediately filled with fear and panic, and lost over 1 stone (for our American friends reading this, that’s 14 lbs) in weight in 4 weeks.  I didn’t know what to do because I didn’t have a peace about doing the only option given me by the medical profession — chemo or radiation. If I didn’t  do what they said — all things pointed to death.

I refused to believe that, knowing that I did have one thing on my side — my faith and belief that Jesus was not only my Saviour, but my Healer.

At the time, I had  2 amazing friends who inundated me with books and DVDs about natural healing.  I also gathered a small group of prayer warriors, who I knew would stand with me and encourage and pray me through my decisions.   I started walking daily to the top of our property, where my husband and son, Jono, had built a Prayer Hut.  Here’s a picture of my little hut, where I spent a great deal of time seeking God with all my heart — knowing that God would show me what to do.

My subsequent journey was one of walking, asking, listening and hearing from an incredible God who loves us more that we can ever know and Who gave me 3 specific dreams, showing me:

1) that I had the victory.

2) that my journey would be a lot easier than I had imagined.

3) specific instruction not to take the 5 year drug that the doctors all told me I would be a fool not to take.

1 Corinthians 2:5 says “I will not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”.

From the start of my journey, I devoured  many healing scriptures in the Bible.  It took 4 weeks to get the Word of God from my head to my heart, but after that time, I knew I was healed, even though there was no evidence yet.  From the very start, my husband researched and found the best juicer on the market, so we started juicing and went totally organic.  I continued to search the internet, and I felt that God guided me to specific books and websites which were such an eye opener for me, and took me to the previously unknown world of natural healing.  I also found a wonderful doctor, a general practitioner who is also alternative and specializes in cancer.

For me, my journey has been scary, eye opening, and totally wonderful.

Through all of this, I learned so much about the wonderful things that God has given us.  I call them God’s Secrets…faith, prayer, intuition, forgiveness, oxygen, laughter, happiness, the sun, fasting, detox, sound, light, music, words, plants, food, water, friends and exercise to name just a few.  These things are available to be revealed as we need them, as we seek Him.  Consequently, as I embraced all that I was learning, I had a real desire to run a 3-day healing retreat at our Bed and Breakfast,  the aim being to share what I had learned.  Time kept slipping away, with overseas trips and life in general – the retreat never happened.

Then…one night last December…

I was watching the Truth about Cancer awards nights.  That changed my life as that was where I discovered one of this world’s treasures….a lady named Suzy Griswold, who was receiving a grant from Ty and Charlene Bollinger for her organization, HealingStrong™.  My heart skipped a beat and I couldn’t believe that someone out there was doing exactly what I had dreamed of doing,  only in a course format instead of a retreat.  I was so excited, I could hardly contain myself.  That’s when I reached out to Suzy at HealingStrong, and the rest is history.  Beginning in March, I started the first international test group for HealingStrong™  in Nairne, Adelaide, South Australia.

When does the group meet, and what do you discuss? Our group meets every 3rd Sunday of the month from 4-5.30 pm and is mainly people who want to prevent cancer, and some who have cancer and want to know more about natural healing strategies to help them heal strong and stay strong.  They come for encouragement, friendship and sharing and exchanging information.  We follow the HealingStrong™ Curriculum, learning all about diet, detoxification, supplementation,  and much more. We enjoy healthy snacks, watch informative videos, engage in lively discussions as we learn different strategies, and at the end of each session – we listen to beautiful devotional music, reminding us of the Love of God.

My favorite scripture:  I have many favorite scriptures and I have made a list of them for the participant of our Healing Strong Group to access but if I were to choose one which was significant on my healing journey, it would probably be Psalm 118:17.  “I will not die but live and will proclaim what the Lord has done”.

Resources of greatest impact:   “Cancer, why we’re still dying to know the truth” by Phillip Day.  He is a brilliant research scientist and has written a plethora of books;  “Cancer Cause and Cure” by Percy Weston, an Australian who lived to over 100 years old and cured himself and his wife, 2 times each.  These two books are very easy to read and totally inspirational.  Percy also reveals the recipe he used to cure his cancer, Percy’s Powder which I take every day.

Some websites that have, and continue to inspire me are (Phillip Day)  His face book page is a closed group but you can join by getting a friend to join you.  You can ask any question on this page and usually get one or several answers.  You can also join his email list, which is always full of interesting articles.

Goto Websites: There are many more inspirational websites but here are just 3 of my favourites:

My favorite quote:  “God is bigger than a doctors report.  God is bigger than any negative report…no matter what the doctors have told me, GOD CAN TURN IT AROUND.”

Thank you sweet, Norma, for your kind words and for sharing your incredible journey of faith, hope and healing!  From serving orphans in Africa, to living outloud your own healing from breast cancer is so inspiring to me, and is giving hope to so many.  It is one of my greatest treasures in my life to serve alongside of you in HealingStrong™.  I have received great encouragement from you during this test group phase.  May God continue to bless you and your group in South Australia.  Thank you for your time and service to others.  We are so thrilled you are part of HealingStrong™ community.

If you would like to connect with a local group, you can find information on our groups page of the website.  If interested in leading a HealingStrong™ group, we are wrapping up our test group phase, revising the curriculum and processes, and will be opening up the application process to the public very soon.  Please fill out the brief survey questionnaire here.  We will reach out to those who have completed this survey first.

We hope you are encouraged by Norma’s story of faith and healing.  For more information and more stories like Norma’s, please go to our website at, or email us at:
