September 2009, a month when everything changed. After a vacation out west with my wife Judy, I started noticing blood in my urine which prompted me to see the doctor. A CAT scan revealed a large tumor in my left kidney (renal cell carcinoma). I had my left kidney removed, recovered and was given a clean bill of health. As is normal for cancer patients, I was required to have a CAT scan every 6 months to make sure everything remained normal. Two years after my surgery spots showed up on my lungs and I was told to see an oncologist. The oncologist was straight forward and told me it was stage four cancer metastasized to the lungs. They recommended that I do chemotherapy. When I asked about the success rate, I was told 30% “respond”, i.e. have an extended life (12 to 24 months). What about the rest of the patients? 12 to 24 months, you have got to be kidding me! My son was 14 at the time. I could not imagine the devastating affect that having chemo and the aftermath would have on him and my wife as well as my older children.

Chemo not the answer!

Knowing from family and friends experiences with chemo, we knew that chemo was not the answer. My wife Judy and I prayed to God for wisdom to know what to do. Judy went into major research mode and spent days and weeks researching natural alternatives. We began with the Gerson Therapy as means of doing “something” until we decided what we wanted to do long term. During this time of research we were introduced to a cancer survivor who was doing extremely well using natural methods. She had a wealth of information on natural healing that she had accumulated and was more than willing to share it with us. My wife and I learned that there are alternatives to what the doctors say but we needed to be our own advocates. We now realized that stage four cancer does not have to be a death sentence. Through God’s wisdom, family encouragement and research we were able to find natural alternatives to consider.

Thank God for Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez and Dr. Linda Isaacs.

After much prayer and research we decided on a protocol being administered by Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez and Dr. Linda Isaacs whose office is in New York City. After a visit to their office I began what was a dramatic change to my eating habits and daily living. My diet is now all organic, mostly raw food. I eat no meat, poultry or dairy and definitely no sugar. I juice vegetables daily with a Norwalk juicer generously given to me by my grown children. My diet was determined through metabolic typing done by the doctors and can vary from patient to patient. I take a large number of natural supplements daily and detox my body regularly. Though the protocol was demanding at first it has become a way of life that I gladly accept.

Every day is a great day!

It has been over a year since I started on this journey of healing strong. I feel as healthy today as I have ever felt in my life. I have no symptoms of illnesses. Every day is a blessing from God. Though I have no grandchildren as of yet, I picture myself playing with them and holding them someday. I give thanks to God for directing my path to this natural way of healing my body and to my loving wife, family and friends for there never ending love and support.
